It all started with a networking event. We wanted to make a space for women* in tech to get together and meet each other. It can get lonely in the workplace when you are in a sea of people who don’t share your experiences.
What we uncovered was a community looking for a place to:
And most importantly, learn from each other how they can overcome barriers to growth within the industry.

We’re 1000+ members strong across the NE of England and gaining strength every day. We are looking for members from the private and public sectors, freelancers and SMEs, corporations and micro businesses. If you’re a woman* in tech, we want you, from student to C-suite.

Not only led by an all-volunteer board, we also take direction from our membership on what topics we cover. Our LinkedIn community and our in-person events are all about you. Because we are led by our members, our programming is always on topic and based on what’s next for our membership.

While we mainly focus on the NE of England, we’re happy to support and collaborate beyond our physical region. Tech doesn’t have borders, and reaching a wider audience with our programming is always on our mind. If you’ve got a stake in women* being more visible in tech, we’d love to work with you.

We welcome:
Our community supports the experiences of our members and we recognise the fluidity of gender identities. We are building an inclusive and accessible community in order to speak directly to the struggles and successes women experience in the tech industry.
We are looking to partner with organisations that are eager to:
If you’re in on the mission, we’d love to have you join us.

Our networking events and online community are just the beginning. We are on a journey to provide the following for our members:
Women in Tech North East is working towards an inclusive and equitable tech industry. We want everyone to thrive and succeed.
You in?
